Payment Policy

Effective Date: January 2, 2026

OVERVIEW

This Payment Policy outlines all payment terms, accepted methods, late payment consequences, refund policies, and cancellation procedures for The Experiential Writing Studio (TXWS), operated by Meredith L. McGuire McConn of Oceans Enterprises Consulting, LLC.

Payment terms vary by service type. Please review the section applicable to your service.

1. ACCEPTED PAYMENT METHODS

All TXWS services accept the following payment methods:

Visa
Mastercard
ACH (Automated Clearing House)
Apple Pay
Stripe

Payment information must be securely stored on file for all subscription and payment plan services.

2. SUBSCRIPTION SERVICES PAYMENT TERMS

SUBSCRIPTION TIERS:

The Sea-Spray: $250/month (Startups, Artists, Creatives, Nonprofits only)
The Ripple: $500/month (Small to Medium Businesses)
The Wave: $1000/month (Businesses seeking consistent content)
The Tide: $2000/month (Businesses without marketing team)

PAYMENT STRUCTURES:

A. MONTH-TO-MONTH

Billed monthly on the 1st of each month
Auto-charged to payment method on file
30-day notice required for cancellation

B. QUARTERLY (3 months prepaid)

10% discount applied
Billed on first day of quarter
30-day notice required for cancellation

C. 6-MONTH (prepaid)

13.3% discount applied
Billed on first day of period
45-day notice required for cancellation

D. YEARLY (prepaid)

15% discount applied
Billed on contract start date
60-day notice required for cancellation

LATE PAYMENT POLICY (Subscriptions):

5-day grace period from due date
After 5 days: $25 late fee + 1.5% monthly interest applied
After 15 days: Services suspended until payment received
After 30 days: Contract terminated, no refund of current period

SUBSCRIPTION CANCELLATION & REFUNDS:

A. MONTH-TO-MONTH SUBSCRIPTIONS:

30-day notice required (send email to: [email protected] with the subject: Cancellation Request)
Client pays for current month + 30 days
Full refund if cancelled before first interview conducted
50% refund if cancelled after interview but before first draft delivered
No refund after first draft delivered

B. QUARTERLY SUBSCRIPTIONS (3 months prepaid):

30-day notice required (send email to: [email protected] with the subject: Cancellation Request)
Full refund minus one month if cancelled within first 30 days AND no content delivered
After 30 days: Refund of unused months minus 20% administrative fee
After first content delivery: Refund of unused months minus one month's fee

C. 6-MONTH SUBSCRIPTIONS (prepaid):

45-day notice required (send email to: [email protected] with the subject: Cancellation Request)
Full refund minus one month if cancelled within first 30 days AND no content delivered
After 30 days: Refund of unused months minus 25% administrative fee
After first content delivery: Refund of unused months minus two months' fees

D. YEARLY SUBSCRIPTIONS (prepaid):

60-day notice required (send email to: [email protected] with the subject: Cancellation Request)
Full refund minus two months if cancelled within first 60 days AND no content delivered
After 60 days: Refund of unused months minus 30% administrative fee
After first content delivery: Refund of unused months minus three months' fees

ADMINISTRATIVE FEES EXPLANATION:

Administrative fees cover TXWS's time investment in client onboarding, branding interviews, content planning, and capacity allocation.

All refunds processed within 30 business days of cancellation request.

3. BRAND STORYTELLING PROJECT PAYMENT TERMS

PRICING OPTIONS:

OPTION A - PAYMENT PLAN:

$1500/month for 3 months = $4500 total
Payment 1: Due upon contract signing
Payment 2: Due 30 days after Payment 1
Payment 3: Due 60 days after Payment 1
Payments automatically charged to card on file

OPTION B - PAY IN FULL:

$4200 (save $300)
Full payment due upon contract signing
6.7% discount for paying in advance

LATE PAYMENT (Payment Plan only):

5-day grace period from due date
After 5 days: $50 late fee + 1.5% monthly interest
After 15 days: Project suspended until payment received
After 30 days: Contract terminated, no refund of payments made

CANCELLATION & REFUNDS (Brand Storytelling):

PAYMENT PLAN ($1500 x 3 months):

Before interviews begin: Refund of all payments minus $300 administrative fee
After 1st interview completed: Refund of months 2 & 3 minus $500
After all interviews completed: Refund of month 3 only if first draft not yet delivered
After first draft delivered: No refund

PAID IN FULL ($4200):

Before interviews begin: Refund minus $300 administrative fee
After 1st interview completed: Refund of 60% ($2520)
After all interviews completed: Refund of 30% ($1260) if first draft not yet delivered
After first draft delivered: No refund

CANCELLATION NOTICE:

Client must provide written notice via email to [email protected] with the subject: Cancellation Requested

All refunds processed within 30 business days of cancellation request.

4. WEBSITE CONTENT SERVICES PAYMENT TERMS

WEBSITE OVERHAUL (Project-Based):

PRICING: Determined after Discovery Call based on scope

Typical ranges: $2500-$6000+ depending on number of pages and complexity

PAYMENT OPTIONS:

A. PAY IN FULL

Total amount due upon contract signing
5% discount applied

B. PAYMENT PLAN

50% due upon contract signing
25% due at midpoint
25% due upon final delivery

CANCELLATION & REFUNDS (Website Overhaul):

PAY IN FULL:

Before interviews begin: Refund minus $300 administrative fee
After interviews, before writing begins: Refund of 50%
After first draft delivered: No refund

PAYMENT PLAN:

Before interviews begin: Refund of all payments minus $300 administrative fee
After interviews, before writing begins: Refund of remaining payments minus 25%
After first draft delivered: No refund of payments made

WEBSITE MAINTENANCE RETAINER:

PRICING TIERS:

TIER 1 - LIGHT MAINTENANCE: $500/month
TIER 2 - STANDARD MAINTENANCE: $1000/month
TIER 3 - FULL MAINTENANCE: $1500/month

PAYMENT TERMS:

Billed monthly on the 1st

CANCELLATION (Website Maintenance):

Client pays for current month + 30 days

Unused updates from current month forfeit

5. PRO BONO & SCHOLARSHIP SERVICES PAYMENT TERMS

Pro bono services are provided at no cost to qualifying nonprofits, artists/artisans, and young businesses.

DISCOUNTED SERVICES (when pro bono slots filled):

$360 (80% discount from standard pricing)
Payment must be received in full before TXWS begins any part of the services
Split payment arrangements may be available on a case-by-case basis

ACCEPTED PAYMENT METHODS:

Visa, Mastercard, ACH, Apple Pay, Stripe

CANCELLATION & REFUNDS (Discounted Services):

Client may cancel service at any time with written notice (send email to: [email protected] with the subject: Cancellation Requested)
Full refund available if client cancels before first interview is conducted
50% refund available if service is cancelled after no more than a single 30-minute interview
No partial refunds available once work extends beyond a single 30-minute interview

6. ADDITIONAL FEES & CHARGES

MISSED INTERVIEW FEES (All Services):

First missed/late arrival: FREE reschedule
Second missed/late arrival in same month: $50 fee (due before rescheduled interview)
Late cancellations (less than 24 hours notice): $25 fee (second occurrence)

PUSH-OUT OPTION FEE (Subscription Services only):

$75 Push-Out Fee (allows missed month's content to push forward)
Due immediately upon request
Non-refundable
Must be requested within 5 business days of missed meeting (send email to: [email protected] with the subject: Push-Out Option Requested)

MAJOR REWRITE FEES:

Subscription Services: $100/hour (billed in 30-minute increments)
Brand Storytelling: $100/hour (billed in 30-minute increments, minimum 1 hour)
Website Services: $100/hour (billed in 30-minute increments)

Major Rewrite defined as:

More than 60 minutes of work (subscriptions) or 90 minutes (projects)
Changing 30% or more of original content (subscriptions) or 40% or more (projects)
Introducing new topics/angles not discussed in interview
Complete restructuring or new direction
Changes based on conflicting feedback from multiple stakeholders

Client will receive written estimate before major rewrite work begins. Client must approve estimate before work commences.

PAUSE OPTION FEE (Subscription Services only):

$75/month to hold Client's spot in schedule
No content produced during pause period
Maximum pause duration: 60 days
Available once per calendar year (twice for Yearly subscribers)

7. TERMINATION BY TXWS & REFUND POLICY

TXWS reserves the right to terminate services for the following reasons:

GROUNDS FOR TERMINATION:

Abusive, threatening, or harassing behavior
Refusal to be recorded or revocation of recording consent
Non-payment or pattern of late payment
Repeated failure to provide necessary materials/feedback (3+ times)
Pattern of missed meetings (3 in any 3month period)
Requesting illegal, unethical, or plagiarized content
Misrepresentation of business or intentions
Any behavior that violates service agreement

REFUND WHEN TXWS TERMINATES:

A. TXWS'S DECISION (no client wrongdoing capacity issue, emergency, etc.):

Full refund of all unused payments

B. CLIENT BREACH (abusive behavior, recording refusal, contract violation):

SUBSCRIPTION SERVICES:

No refund of current month
Refund of future unused months minus 10% administrative fee

BRAND STORYTELLING (Payment Plan):

Before interviews begin: Refund of all payments minus $500 administrative fee
After interviews begin: NO REFUND of any payments made
Future payments cancelled immediately

BRAND STORYTELLING (Paid in Full):

Before interviews begin: Refund minus $1000 administrative fee
After 1st interview: Refund of 40% maximum ($1680) TXWS keeps 60%
After all interviews completed: NO REFUND - Client forfeits entire payment

WEBSITE SERVICES (Pay in Full):

Before interviews: Refund minus $1000 administrative fee
After interviews begin: Refund of 40% maximum
After first draft: NO REFUND

WEBSITE SERVICES (Payment Plan):

Before interviews: Refund minus $500 administrative fee
After interviews begin: NO REFUND of payments made

C. MUTUAL AGREEMENT (not working out, but no fault on either side):

Refund of unused portion minus equivalent of one month (subscriptions) or one payment (projects)
Both parties sign mutual release

NOTICE:

TXWS will provide written notice of termination within 5 business days, except in cases of abusive behavior where termination may be immediate without notice.

8. REFUND PROCESSING

All approved refunds will be processed within 30 business days of:

Receipt of written cancellation notice, OR
Date of termination decision

Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used.

For formal disputes, parties agree to first attempt informal resolution through good-faith discussion. If informal resolution fails, parties agree to mediation before pursuing litigation.

10. GOVERNING LAW

This Payment Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any legal action must be brought in Brevard County, Florida.

11. MODIFICATIONS

TXWS reserves the right to modify this Payment Policy with 30 days' written notice to active clients. Modifications will not affect services already in progress under previous terms.
